Framing Day8- Finally more pictures..
I’m a little behind on the pictures but I will attempt to show them in chronological order. This first shot is of the first floor stairwell (empty), going up to the second floor. The stairs have been ordered and should take one week to be delivered.
This is another picture from the same spot. The wall to the left will be framed, starting from the basement and working all the way up to the third floor.
The new house extends a little above the original brick framing. It will affect the location of the windows in the bedroom. They will be lower to the floor and will require tempered glass. The top of the house will require more brick to fill in the gap and the stucco will blend it all in once it is completed. The top front will require matching brick and building a new decorative cornice.
This picture is from the third floor interior. It should give you a better idea of where we will need to lay more brick. Also the extra space at the top will require fireproof dense glass on the sides, and stucco to blend it all in. The roof is actually already installed but the pictures are too dark to post. Keep in mind that there is no electricity at this time. We are running the tools using gas operated generators.
The final three shots are of the rear of the house with the roof installed and the rear addition framed. There will be a couple of windows on the rear of the addition. The windows will provide a nice flow of natural light onto the main floor. The clearance on the first floor addition is 9 feet high. This should provide enough space for the ductwork, should we need to run it over top of the cabinets.
