Flipping on a Budget - Linoleum Floors
I’ve decided to write a series of posts about house flipping on a small budget. The purpose of this series is to discuss the use of materials that are lower in cost but without sacrificing aesthetics. I typically use high end materials i.e. granite countertops, hard wood floors, all wood cabinets, ceramic tile, Kohler faucets and fixtures, etc. Occasionally there are times when the budget is a bit tighter or the location allows for a little less flamboyance. One material that has come a long way over the years is linoleum.
Linoleum of today comes in both soft and hard surfaces with many more styles than those from the past. They come in many colors, designs and patterns and can last upward of 10 years or more. They are a tiny fraction of the cost of tile, stone or wood and usually are cheaper to install. Linoleum also now comes in squares or individual pieces that mimic ceramic tile. There are also styles that mimic hard wood floors and stone. Someone with do-it-yourself skills can usually install a square room that has few bends and corners but its best to get a professional beyond that. Before you install that expensive ceramic tile in your kitchen or bathroom, check for the new styles of linoleum for your house flips on a small budget.
